Ray Anderson: The passing of a visionary

Ray Anderson lost a 20-month battle with cancer yesterday at his home in Atlanta, Georgia, aged 77. The sustainability movement has lost one of its most inspirational figures.

‘Food deserts’ in the US, really?

Is the US suffering a food shortage? I did a double-take over today’s story about Wal-Mart helping to tackle ‘food deserts’ in the US. Following headlines about impending famine in Africa, this somehow seemed to jar.
Yet apparently, it’s true.

I saw a poster ad this weekend for Tesco mobiles – something along the lines of “A new phone every year – long live the 12-month contract”…
