Amanda Jordan

Amanda is Joint Chair of Corporate Citizenship

My career began in the voluntary sector in policy and campaigning. That background made my move into the corporate sector a surprise to everyone, including me, and some wonder as a move that way was virtually unheard of at that time. However I had the job of a lifetime at NatWest initially developing a strategic focus for community involvement, inventing the concept of financial literacy and being in the vanguard of employee involvement. We were the first to measure skills development and my drive to demonstrate business impact led me to set up the London Benchmarking Group LBG with David Logan – now my joint Chair at Corporate Citizenship.

I then moved on to develop and run our joined up corporate responsibility strategy. I kept my public policy interests and took on a number of public appointments including as a member of one of the key lottery bodies, the New Deal Advisory Board and as an advisor to the Social Exclusion Unit when it was first established in the Cabinet Office. Helping to set up the inaugural corporate responsibility unit in government.

I love a challenge and took on the ultimate when setting up my own business The SMART Company – one of CC constituent businesses. Growing that business has been the most satisfying experience of my career. I have been lucky to have been part of a movement that has helped business to demonstrate that it is a force for positive change -  You should never lose sight of the bigger picture.

Past Experience
Age Concern,  Scope, NCVO, NatWest, The SMART Company.

Other roles
Former non executive Chair of Internet Watch Foundation and non exec Director of the Banking Code Standards Board. Chair of the Baring Foundation and The National Literacy Trust. Current Chair of UKCCIS Industry Standards working group. Member of ICAEW Sustainability and the ICCSR Advisory Boards.

Amy Lunt

Amy is a Senior Consultant

amyBack in 2001, I emerged from Bath University with a brand new PhD in the still emerging field of corporate responsibility, wondering what to do next. Fortunately, I discovered the SMART Company and joined them as one of their first employees. Our wide range of clients, from The National Trust to Lloyds TSB, gave me a great insight into what CR meant out in the real world. Since then, we’ve seen some big changes in corporate responsibility and some big changes for our company. What hasn’t changed is the sense that companies and the people within them have real power and capacity to bring about positive change, both social and environmental, and being part of that has got to be one of the best places to be in the business world.

Past experience: The SMART Company; CEA@Islington

Clients have included: Richemont, The GoAhead Group, National Grid, Lloyds TSB, Charities Aid Foundation

Rupali Patni

Rupali is an Associate Director at Corporate Citizenship and leads our reporting services.

I left university wanting to save the world – as one does. The only question was how…! My undergraduate years at LSE left me in no doubt as to the immense social, environmental and economic challenges facing our world. At the same time it was becoming clear that the actors were changing – the role of the public sector was diminishing and the role of business was growing in all spheres of life, including social and economic development. Helping businesses harness their energies to be a force for good seemed to be the way to go.

Eight years of sustainability consulting have brought their share of realism and pragmatism. Change takes time. But I still feel inspired by the work we do and privileged to work with some of the leading lights in this area – both colleagues and clients!

My work ranges from developing sustainability strategies for clients to address their biggest impacts on society; to helping them communicate their journey in a creative yet credible way.

Clients have included: Unilever, Abbott Laboratories, Coca-Cola, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Standard Life, Roche Pharmaceuticals, BAA, Centrica, Nationwide Building Society

Past history: CSR consulting at Article 13

Call Rupali to talk: Sustainability/CSR strategy, Reporting, Assurance, Stakeholder engagement.

David Logan

David Logan is Joint Chair of Corporate Citizenship with Amanda Jordan

My early career was with the British Trades Union Congress which I left to work on youth unemployment and community economic renewal in the voluntary sector.  That is where I helped run a community owned business and came into contact with a range of companies that supported our work when government was making it difficult.  I saw the value of what companies could do and 1980 I joined the Community Affairs staff of Levi Strauss & Co managing activities across Europe.  I move to San Francisco and worked for the Social Responsibility and Ethic Committee of the company on a wide range of CSR issues around the world.

After leaving Levis, I consulted on CSR for several years, returned to the UK and then started The Corporate Citizenship Company with Mike Tuffrey in 1997, to gear up for the rapidly emerging interest in the field which companies were showing in Europe and beyond. Business had become the driver of the global economy and it was seeking to define its role as a good corporate citizen in its own business and the total value chain around the world.  I have been able to travel across five continents for our international clients, and see how business helps shape human society and culture around the globe, the power of business can be a force of good and I am still excited by the challenge of making that real and effective.

Past experience: Teaching, The Trades Union Congress, Youthaid and the Jubilee Hall, Levi Strauss & Co, The Corporate Citizenship Company.

Client have included: Unilever, Vodafone, Cadbury, Diageo, IFC, UNICEF, Abbott and Deloitte

Call David to talk: about ethics and values, economic and social measurement, managing CSR around the world in different cultures, and a wide range of the work we do.

Grace Palazzolo

Grace is Corporate Citizenship’s Marketing and Creative Director.

I came to Corporate Citizenship having spent most of my working life in the world of Consumer PR.  Increasingly I found I was spending more and more of my working day wondering why it was getting so hard to feel enthusiastic about coming up with ‘more creative ways’ to get people to write about and buy different brands.  It seemed obvious that rather spending all day brainstorming the merits of ‘celebrity endorsement’ versus ‘guerilla stunt’ why weren’t we encouraging clients to do something real and take a positive action that would not only give them a competitive edge but create a whole new way of connecting with a much wider group of people.  So, when I joined Corporate Citizenship in 2007, it was with a feeling of real excitement about having the opportunity to be part of a business committed to helping clients make a positive difference.  What can I tell you?  So far, so good!

Past experience: WCRS, Freud Communications and HHCL & Partners followed by setting up my own agency, Killa Communications.

Clients have included: Pepsi, Bombay Sapphire, ITV, Texaco, Yahoo, Habitat, Channel 4, Oxfam, Sci Fi Channel, Bacardi Brown Forman and Sky.

Helen Rushton

Helen is a Director at Corporate Citizenship.

Having worked in-house, as Head of Corporate Responsibility for Camelot, I have had hands-on experience of stakeholder consultation, social auditing and reporting. I don’t just know about CR in theory – I have got my hands dirty, convinced the sceptics and seen the real difference a fully embedded CR strategy can make. It is for this reason that I am so passionate about the power of stakeholder dialogue; understanding your stakeholder’s views and priorities is a vital ingredient of long term business success.

During my 6 years in consultancy, my most rewarding projects have involved the strategic integration of CR within an organisation; bringing corporate responsibility in to the mainstream of a business’ strategy.

I enjoy working with clients, getting to grips with their organisation’s issues and helping them to identify and manage their key social, ethical and environmental risks. I have a particular interest in companies with challenging and high profile social impacts, including those in the alcohol and gambling sectors.

Good client relationships are central to the success of a project. One of my clients recently said to me “You were much more than consultants to us, you were truly part of S&N” – and that to me is what my job is all about.

Past experience: Camelot, Aristoc, Sleepeeze and, pre merger, The SMART Company. MBA from Warwick Business School

Clients have included: Scottish & Newcastle, Richemont, Alfred Dunhill, National Express, Royal and Sun Alliance, Sodexo, Aegis, MFI, 888.com, Sportingbet and Rank.

jon-lloydI work with clients on a range of projects from community investment strategy through assurance and on to CSR reporting. I take most enjoyment from helping clients to develop practical solutions to the challenges of operating both responsibly and competitively. If there’s one thing that sets Corporate Citizenship apart from the pack it’s our ability to move clients beyond the ‘why’ and on to the ‘how’ of CSR.

I have been involved with LBG since crunching its first full benchmark numbers back in 2001 and have been proud to see membership grow to more than 120 companies, with an ever expanding international network. I am also excited as we enter a new phase of impact assessment that can take reporting of the results of corporate community investment to a new level.

Jessica Sultzer

Jessica is a Consultant at Corporate Citizenship

I came to Corporate Citizenship in May of 2011 after spending almost six years at Major League Soccer (MLS) and The National Football League (NFL) promoting the use of sport to create positive social change. The experience was invaluable and shaped my understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility and its role in helping businesses deliver real results. Given the power of the NFL brand, we were in an influential position to help our partners embed CSR into their corporate culture, as well as drive fan engagement and measurable NFL business results through priority CSR initiatives.

I was first exposed to the role business plays in society as an undergraduate at The George Washington University in Washington DC. I was volunteering for an organization called Project HEALTH and college students were working alongside doctors, lawyers, community organizers and social workers to make a systemic impact on the way America’s healthcare works. Following a year of service in AmeriCorps National Community Civilian Corps, I returned to DC to lead the Project HEALTH site and build the infrastructure and programming. It is such a powerful model that is changing the healthcare conversation and impacting the way Hospitals service patients.

I moved to New York to pursue my Master’s in Public Administration from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. Joining Corporate Citizenship allows me to broaden my understanding of CSR and sustainability to encompass the full spectrum of issues we currently face, and be surrounded by passionate people who are invested in making businesses more sustainable.

Ian Buckland

Ian is Associate Director at Corporate Citizenship.

I started working in sustainability before anyone knew what it would fully mean. For me it was always the promise of working at the forefront of issues and their interaction. Sorting out the way environmental, social and economic issues played out for businesses was what got me up in the morning! And of course this discovery is not over yet. I still get that real buzz from seeing how small changes can make a real difference to my clients and eventually how they can become the new norm. This first began in my early career in environmental design, but I soon realised that what I was laying out on the ground could be made even better by interventions further back in the decision and value chains.

It’s now over 15 years since I moved into sustainability for businesses. I remember my first client. They were only testing the water at the beginning of their sustainability journey. Today they’re recognised by FTSE4good/ DJSI as leaders in their sector and I find it incredibly rewarding to see their progress.  It’s not just inside companies that have progressed. I remember clearly how doubtful clients used to be when I first discussed climate change. It wasn’t always easy, but I do look back with pride on the break-through moments and how they can come from the strangest of places – even finance departments! An important part of my job is still making sure that the new opportunities are taken just as seriously despite the increased complexity all around. There’s a lot more to do still, so I’d better get on with it…

Specific sector knowlege: Food & drink, transport, pharmaceuticals, financial services, hospitality

Clients have included: GSK, H&M, Marine harvest, AB InBev, ING, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Maersk Group, Novo Nordisk, General Motors

Megan DeYoung

Megan leads our US office

megan-deyoungHaving grown up in a house where one of the family mottos was “no one can do everything, but everyone can do something,” my family and friends are not surprised that my career involves working on social and environmental issues.  After graduating from Emory University, I worked for a nonprofit organization where I assisted businesses with recycling initiatives. Realizing that I did not want to be limited to only one issue, I pursued graduate studies in corporate responsibility at the University of Michigan’s Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise, and received a MBA and a MS in Natural Resources and Environment.  Working on international projects in Croatia and Peru while in graduate school led me to Population Services International (PSI), a nonprofit organization working on health issues in developing countries.  At PSI I advised our offices in Africa, traveling to the region several times, and established a service offering that developed and ran corporate employee HIV/AIDS education programs.

Since my passion is working with businesses on multiple social and environmental issues, I took a job in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ sustainability practice.  Three years later when a position opened at Corporate Citizenship, I knew that it was the perfect place for me to combine my skills, knowledge, and passion to work closely with businesses to embed corporate responsibility into their operations in a way that creates business value.

Mike Tuffrey

Mike is a founding director of Corporate Citizenship

Having worked with companies on CSR since 1987, a decade ago I asked for my P45, left the security of employment and set out with David Logan to create our own management consultancy – unashamedly intending to create the best, most business-focused and internationally-orientated agency. Today it’s a source of pride and pleasure to have more than 30 colleagues, offices in London and New York and associates around the world.

The intervening years have brought unique opportunities to work on the inside with some of the world’s leaders in responsible and sustainable business – and the ability that brings truly to make a difference.

Along the way, I’ve combined business with active involvement in local government and as a volunteer with community groups too. Today I serve as an elected member of the London Assembly, and among other responsibilities have been appointed by the mayor to the London Sustainable Development Commission.

What gets me out of bed in the morning? Well, usually the noisy intervention of my kids. And actually that answers the ‘why’ question too… hopefully everything I try to do is in some small way helping make the world a better place, now and for future generations.

Past history: Economics degree from Durham University. Chartered accountant, qualifying with KPMG. Speech writer and legislative counsel, House of Lords. Director, Action Resource Centre (employee engagement charity, now part of BitC). Consultant with PRIMA Europe, public and community affairs agency. Founded Corporate Citizenship Briefing in 1991. Named by the London Evening Standard as one of the 1000 most influential Londoners for work on the environment. Served as a judge for IR Magazine’s best annual report award, for the Charities Aid Foundation Company of the Year and on the IPPR public involvement awards panel, among others.

Mitun Majumdar

Mitun is an associate director at Corporate Citizenship

I have always been interested in how business works. My years working as a Chartered Accountant for BDO Stoy Hayward certainly gave me valuable insight into the inner workings of many different companies across a spectrum of industries. A background in economics, followed by five years working with companies on financial and business assurance projects convinced me of the pivotal role of business in society and the opportunities to maximise the positive contribution companies can make. However, it was a move into an in-house corporate responsibility team that gave me first-hand experience of the challenges that arise in the implementation of a corporate responsibility strategy and the rewards of getting it right.

Since joining Corporate Citizenship in 2008, I have really enjoyed the variety in my work – the clients, the issues they face and the approaches they take. Whether it’s helping corporate responsibility leaders to measure and report their economic impact, or helping companies starting out on their CR journey to identify their impacts and develop their strategies, it has been a brilliant experience so far!

Past experience: BDO Stoy Hayward, HM Treasury

Victoria Hartley

Victoria is an Associate Director at Corporate Citizenship

I joined Corporate Citizenship (SMART Company as was) in 2004. I came into corporate responsibility via fundraising for the NSPCC – many years ago! A secondment from the NSPCC into Microsoft UK’s community affairs team as their Community Affairs Project Manager opened my eyes to growing pressures on business to fulfill their responsibilities, but also the benefits that can be achieved when it works – both to the business, but also to society and the environment. After spending 6 months in South Africa, I joined the SMART team, and whilst I have continued to focus on community investment and cross sector partnerships, I have also worked across a wide range of projects and also developed our own environmental offering – Climate SMART, and am currently leading our work in the Middle East.

Corporate Citizenship has a fantastic network of clients and contacts which have allowed me to be part of so many positive things – from research, to strategy, to hands on support with implementation – what do they say about variety and the spice of life!

Past experience: NSPCC, Microsoft UK and then various community development projects in South Africa.

Yohan Hill

Yohan is one of Corporate Citizenship’s senior consultants.

I joined Corporate Citizenship after spending about four years researching corporate responsibility (CR) in publicly listed firms for a socially responsible investment (SRI) research house called EIRIS. CR consuIting was thus a natural career progression for me as I was able to transfer knowledge and expertise of analysing CR performance on behalf of investors, to advising companies and other institutions on how to improve their CR practices in a strategic manner. I now provide CR management support and advice to a wide variety of organisations including financial institutions, professional services firms, and food and beverage manufacturers. The focus of my work is primarily on the environmental side of CR, helping companies to measure, improve upon and report their environmental performance. The emphasis here is on credible, pragmatic action that can lead to measurable improvement and greater stakeholder confidence over time – and it’s both a challenging and evolving arena to work in.

Past experience: Working for EIRIS on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange SRI Index, FTSE4Good and a range of other SRI clients including the Co-operative Bank and Norwegian Government Pension Fund.

Clients have included: BDO Stoy Hayward, Britvic, Pearson

Anne Stubert

Anne is a senior consultant at Corporate Citizenship.

My interest in CSR lies in the intersection between CSR and international development, more specifically how CSR can be used as a tool to address development challenges across the world.

I started my career in international development, working for the Swedish Foreign office, in the UN-section. My work with International Labour Organisation (ILO) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) gave me a solid background on sustainability issues, but more importantly sparked a strong interest in the area. My work took me to East Africa where I worked for the UN agency HABITAT.

The experience in the non-profit and public sector made me realise that it had its limitations, and that the private sector in many cases had an equally important, if not bigger, impact on development challenges around the world.

As a result, I moved to London and started working in the CSR sector. Over the past years I have worked as a freelance consultant in the CSR and ‘Business for Development’ sectors, with a particular focus on emerging markets. Projects have been broad and exciting, and I have had the opportunity to work with multinationals, government agencies and multi-stakeholder programmes.

Joining Corporate Citizenship has given me the opportunity to work across a range of industries and exciting clients, on diverse project covering areas such as supply chain, stakeholder engagement and impact assessments, and with a team of talented, experienced and dedicated people from a range of different backgrounds.

Jen Balazs

Jen is Corporate Citizenship’s Senior Consultant and LBG US manager

I have always been interested in the intersections of society and business and have sought experiences which would give me the skill set and understanding of both sectors. I’ve worked for an international private voluntary organization focusing on international development issues in Africa, High Technology Public Relations and developed expertise in strategic and effective communications; the non-profit Hispanic Scholarship Fund and Chevron’s Corporate Community Involvement, where I learned the power of partnerships and the emerging field of corporate responsibility. Just before joining Corporate Citizenship I earned my Master’s in Public Administration from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service.

Corporate Citizenship is the perfect culmination of all my previous experiences, and I am able to help my clients — navigate the intersections of society and use their capabilities to promote positive change in the world.

Past experience: Chevron, Weber Shandwick, World Education, and The Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Andrew Wilson

Andrew is a Director at Corporate Citizenship

I have more than seventeen years experience in consulting on all aspects of corporate responsibility and sustainable development. This has provided fantastic opportunities to work with the leaders of multinational companies, advise government ministers and civil servants, and participate in initiatives in the third sector.

I have also been lucky enough to work on five continents, experiencing first hand how the role of business in society is interpreted in many different cultures.

My role as consultant is to help organisations understand changing market forces, respond appropriately and implement positive change in the way they operate.

As someone who has run a business, I know the difficulties in balancing competing stakeholder demands – I am also very aware of the benefits that come from successfully managing a company’s social and environmental impacts.

Clients have included: Barclays, Camelot, CEMEX, Hewitt, Imperial Tobacco, J&J, Telecity Group, UNICEF and Vodafone Foundation.

Past history: Management experience in the hotel and retail sectors. More recently I was director of research at Ashridge, the international business school.

Tara James

Tara is a consultant at Corporate Citizenship

As a chartered environmental engineer, I have spent 7 years in the consulting industry working on water sector projects. The projects have spanned stormwater reuse & recycling programmes in Australia to assessments of flood risk, including for the London 2012 Olympics & the Battersea Power Station redevelopment.

Coming from the largely-dry Australia, the concept of water sustainability has been a key focus for me in identifying ways we can reduce our environmental footprint. After taking a course on Strategic Sustainable Development however, I realised that I wanted to broaden my understanding of sustainability to encompass the full spectrum of issues we currently face, and help to educate and raise awareness in others. The more people we can get thinking and talking about sustainability (and no longer seeing “sustainability” as a dirty word equivalent to “greenwash”), the greater the chance of us achieving that goal. Joining Corporate Citizenship has allowed me to start on this journey, from providing insight into contentious issues of deforestation and biofuels to assessing strategies for employee engagement and community investment. I look forward to delving further.

Sean McGowan

Sean is an intern at Corporate Citizenship’s New York office

Working for Corporate Citizenship represents my second exposure to the world of corporate responsibility.  I was introduced to corporate responsibility while I was studying finance and sustainability as an undergraduate student at Arizona State University.  Before entering my final year in school, I worked for the Director of Sustainability at a Fortune 500 company.  That experience was invaluable.  From it, I gained an understanding of both the tangible and intangible benefits that result when a company broadens its scope of activities to include environmental and social initiatives.

The prospect of joining Corporate Citizenship was an exciting one.  This opportunity allows me to apply the knowledge and skills I have acquired in the classroom as well as the professional world to a wide array of projects across several industries.

Camille Agon

Camille is a senior researcher at Corporate Citizenship

I joined Corporate Citizenship in September 2010 after working two years in crisis communications in New York. Increasingly I found that, in an era of economic turmoil, helping companies respond and recover from a crisis was only a short term solution. After working on a few corporate social responsibility projects, I realized that the winning enterprises of the future will be those that will manage to both do well and do good. The social and environmental agenda has to become an intrinsic part of all enterprises, and so much evidence of this is already at hand.

Joining Corporate Citizenship gave me the great opportunity to help companies enhance corporate performance while creating positive change. It is also inspiring to work with a team of dedicated people who believe that it is possible to make money and save the world and that is the way it should be!

Nicole Clucas

Nicole is a Senior researcher at Corporate Citizenship

After my degree and a few years spent working in PR and then insolvency, I wanted to find a role that encouraged businesses to tackle environmental and social issues. I completed an MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College where I specialised in Business and the Environment. I really wanted to put this knowledge into practice to engage with businesses on sustainability.

I jumped at the chance to join Corporate Citizenship and find doing such a wide variety of work really interesting. From producing environmental strategies and measuring carbon footprints to analysing community investment, the research and I do really cuts to the heart of issues facing businesses today.  I view engaging with private sector organisations as a real opportunity to bring about lasting change and enjoy the challenge of helping companies take responsibility for their actions.

Past experience: Polhill Communications, PricewaterhouseCoopers, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Council, Clownfish and Pfizer.

Client history: Unilever, Land Securities, Britvic, Abbott, Pearson, Mars, Starbucks.

Richard Hardyment

Richard is a senior consultant at Corporate Citizenship

I joined Corporate Citizenship from Forum for the Future, the sustainable development charity, where I specialised scenario-planning, trend analysis and visioning for corporate clients. I’m passionate about helping businesses think more strategically in order to better manage their risks and realise new opportunities from responsible and sustainable business practices.

My first foray into environmental and social issues came through studying Geography at Cambridge. I then went to work in the heart of Westminster politics, opening my eyes to how to run effective communication campaigns and build strong reputations.

It was during an MBA year that I became fascinated with a new question: how can you make the business case for sustainability? Convincing a Finance Director requires a different language from just saying “because it’s the right thing to do”.

Corporate Citizenship provides the perfect match for me: an experienced and comprehensive consultancy with particular strengths in measuring the tangible impacts and communicating them. I’m looking forward to helping clients to identify new opportunities and realise their own success stories from corporate sustainability.

Stephanie Caun

Stephanie is a senior researcher

With an interest in business and economics but also adamant I wanted to make a difference, CSR seemed the perfect field to satisfy both.

After completing a Masters at the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, I had a brief stint working in-house with Trader Media Group’s CR team before moving to a small organisation helping to run community projects for the mutual benefit of corporates and non-profits.

I am very interested in the future of CSR; particularly with the rapid growth of the BRIC countries and the issues that emerge with this, and how the transparency of social media has become both an opportunity and a threat to companies (a topic I focused on for my Masters thesis).

Working at Corporate Citizenship has provided me with the opportunity to work alongside committed CSR professionals with a range of interesting backgrounds and experience and I have enjoyed working on the wide variety of service areas that we offer.

Mayaz Rahman

Mayaz is a senior consultant

For the last 10 years I have been working at the intersection between companies, communities and NGOs, developing community investment strategies and putting together corporate and NGO partnerships at a national and international level.  In this time I have advised on philanthropy, strategic partnerships, employee engagement and cause-related marketing. While working at UNICEF, I developed programmes for companies across the spectrum; from major global financial services companies to one of the World’s largest nappy manufacturers. I have always been passionate about the role the private sector has to play in society and the creative ways in which companies and NGOs can work together.  What I find really exciting now is that we are entering an era of convergence where companies, communities and NGOs will have to work ever more closely, creating mutual benefit and shared value, and Corporate Citizenship is well positioned to help companies along this journey.

Gemma Parmar

My background is in communications in sustainability and CSR and before beginning my internship with Corporate Citizenship, I had recently completed an MA in Environment, Politics and Globalisation from King’s College London. My interest and experience in CSR comes from a corporate and charity partnership perspective which begun while I was working for Leap CR, where I was responsible for social media research and content; newsletter; and website which introduced me to CSR. This exposure in working with not-for-profits as well as companies interested in corporate volunteering led to a change in direction in my career and inspired me to pursue my master’s degree with an aim to work in the CSR and sustainability sector.

My background in sustainability comes from my experience with the London Sustainability Exchange and Southwark Council’s Sustainability Team, which gave me an insight into sustainability issues affecting London. My aim for the internship with corporate citizenship is to broaden my knowledge of different aspects of CSR, particularly in terms of the environment, stakeholder engagement and CSR strategy.

Hugh Macpherson

After graduating from University College London I was keen to follow my interest in all things environmental. I went on to complete an MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College London where I focused my studies on Climate Change Policy. For my postgraduate dissertation I created an index for use by corporate environmental managers to analyse the level of salience held by stakeholders in a company’s network.

During this time I was also involved in conducting some Research Analysis for Veolia Environnement looking into various economic methodologies for businesses to include valuations of environmental externalities into their budget calculations to simultaneously improve their brand value and decrease their operational costs.

The opportunity to combine these two elements – stakeholder engagement and CSR strategy implementation – was all the motivation I needed to apply for this internship at Corporate Citizenship and already two weeks in I have learnt a huge amount about the operations of a sustainability consultancy firm.
