Annie Freres
Senior Researcher
Annie’s main interest as a Senior Researcher at Corporate Citizenship lies in how businesses can proactively contribute towards sustainable development through their core strategy. She has gained broad experience on corporate responsibility (CR) issues through working on a variety of projects across the whole spectrum of corporate citizenship, including sustainability reporting for Lafarge, non-financial assurance for the International Finance Corporation’s annual report and stakeholder engagement for Centrica.
She has also contributed to projects, advising businesses on CR/ Sustainability strategy development, brand footprint analysis and supply chain management.
Before joining, Annie worked at the European Commission, where she was conducting research towards the development of sustainable development indicators to monitor the implementation of the EU’s Sustainable Development Strategy. Annie has a BSc in International Business from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Business & Community from the University of Bath, where she undertook research on the role of consumers in reducing packaging waste.
She has lived and worked across Europe and has traveled in various parts of Asia and South America, where she volunteered in development projects in Patagonia, Chile. She is fluent in English, French and German and has conversational skills in Polish, Spanish, Italian and basic Mandarin.
