The changing nature of corporate responsibility

In 2006, we conducted a review of the prevalence and role of corporate foundations in England and Wales. The report, Revealing the Foundations, opened up many more questions about� this model of corporate giving. We were commissioned by CAF, one of the funders of Revealing the Foundations, to undertake a new piece of research focused specifically on how the changing nature of corporate responsibility is affecting the use of foundations as a model of corporate giving.

We spoke with a number of companies, foundations, recipients and opinion formers to try to establish whether a change is underway and if so, how it is affecting the use of foundations. It was found that CR is having an impact in some surprising ways, and this new report profiles the activities of several companies who are rethinking how foundations can be used as part of a strategic, business focused CR programme.
