Sodexo
With a turnover of nearly £1bn, Sodexo UK & Ireland provides food and facilities management services to the corporate, education, healthcare, leisure and defence sectors.
We began working with Sodexo in 2005. The brief was to support Sodexo in producing its first CR report for the UK and Ireland, ensuring that the business’ material issues were identified and addressed. To do this we developed a tailor-made audit toolkit for Sodexo which helped us to identify Sodexo’s major impacts issues. Following the successful publication of the first report, Sodexo asked us to help with the 2006 report.
To prepare for the 2006 report, we facilitated a series of strategy sessions for senior executives and managers. We developed Key Performance Indicators to give a clearer picture of performance. An engagement process with a key group of Sodexo’s stakeholders also enabled us to begin to address areas of concern in advance of any potential media scrutiny.
As a result of our work with Sodexo, the company is now included in the Business in the Community Index of the Top 100 ‘Companies that Count’, published annually by the Sunday Times.
