I joined Corporate Citizenship after spending about four years researching corporate responsibility (CR) in publicly listed firms for a socially responsible investment (SRI) research house called EIRIS. CR consuIting was thus a natural career progression for me as I was able to transfer knowledge and expertise of analysing CR performance on behalf of investors, to advising companies and other institutions on how to improve their CR practices in a strategic manner. I now provide CR management support and advice to a wide variety of organisations including financial institutions, professional services firms, and food and beverage manufacturers. The focus of my work is primarily on the environmental side of CR, helping companies to measure, improve upon and report their environmental performance. The emphasis here is on credible, pragmatic action that can lead to measurable improvement and greater stakeholder confidence over time – and it’s both a challenging and evolving arena to work in.
Past experience: Working for EIRIS on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange SRI Index, FTSE4Good and a range of other SRI clients including the Co-operative Bank and Norwegian Government Pension Fund.
