Societies in Society

We have been working with the Building Societies Association for a number of years, helping them to support members on all aspects of corporate responsibility. In 2002, we carried out a survey of all building societies on behalf of the BSA to understand more about how the sector was approaching corporate responsibility. The resulting publication, Mutuality and Social Responsibility, was launched at a conference for building societies and other mutual organisations, hosted by the BSA and SMART, where the headline speakers included Oona King MP and Baroness Sally Greengross.
In 2005, we updated the survey to review how much progress has been made and to identify the aspects of corporate responsibility that matter most to building societies. The results were published by the BSA in a new report, Societies in Society.
