“Two of Britain’s biggest corporate responsibility consultancies have merged to create a new company called Corporate Citizenship. The new business has been formed by bringing together the 11-year-old Corporate Citizenship Company (TCCC) and the eight-year-old Smart Company. Both are now owned by UK-based Chime Communications following the acquisition of TCCC for an undisclosed sum in autumn 2007. Existing clients of both firms, including Aviva, BMW, Cadbury Schweppes, Go-Ahead, LaFarge, Pearson, Scottish & Newcastle and Vodafone, will be serviced by Corporate Citizenship. The new entity will also manage the London Benchmarking Group, which brings together more than 100 companies seeking to measure their community contributions and was previously run by TCCC. David Logan, co-founder of TCCC, and Amanda Jordan, founder of Smart Company, will be the joint chairs of Corporate Citizenship. Most of the 36 staff will be based in London, with a small team operating from New York.”
