Deepa is a Consultant at Corporate Citizenship.
I joined Corporate Citizenship (SMART Company as was) in October 2007.
After a Politics and Spanish degree I left university full of beans and wanting to make a difference in the world. This enthusiasm initially led me to being Parliamentary Officer at Amnesty International (UK) and also working for Save the Children Fund.
My interest in corporate responsibility comes from having the belief that if international standards, principles and aspirations for how we should live are to be met, then business’ buy-in, engagement and participation is vital to making this happen. There’s much to be done to realise sustainable development globally, and being a part of the action has been a driving force throughout my career. A couple of roles in the venture capital and responsible investment worlds led me to Corporate Citizenship and the enthusiasm continues. It’s inspiring to work with people who are passionate about what they do and are determined to deliver pragmatic yet creative solutions to the many challenges businesses face. It’s a bonus to also have clients who are constantly challenging themselves to achieve more as responsible global citizens.
Past experience: Amnesty International (UK), Save the Children, P3 Ventures, FTSE
