I have more than seventeen years experience in consulting on all aspects of corporate responsibility and sustainable development. This has provided fantastic opportunities to work with the leaders of multinational companies, advise government ministers and civil servants, and participate in initiatives in the third sector.
I have also been lucky enough to work on five continents, experiencing first hand how the role of business in society is interpreted in many different cultures.
My role as consultant is to help organisations understand changing market forces, respond appropriately and implement positive change in the way they operate.
As someone who has run a business, I know the difficulties in balancing competing stakeholder demands – I am also very aware of the benefits that come from successfully managing a company’s social and environmental impacts.
Clients have included: Barclays, Camelot, CEMEX, Hewitt, Imperial Tobacco, J&J, Telecity Group, UNICEF and Vodafone Foundation.
Past history: Management experience in the hotel and retail sectors. More recently I was director of research at Ashridge, the international business school.
